Bassist and composer Petros Klampanis grew up in Greece, surrounded by a fusion of Mediterranean and Balkan folklore. He then settled in New York, combining his roots with classical and popular music, searching for authentic expression. Among the numerous artists he collaborated with are Greg Osby, Jaques Morelenbaum, Gilad Hekselman, Ari Hoenig, Jean-Michel Pilc, Shai Maestro, Antonio Sanchez and the band Snarky Puppy. The Serbian audience got to see him at the Pančevo Jazz Festival in the Oded Tzur Quartet. In his home country, his music has been performed by the Greek Public Symphonic Orchestra and the young symphony orchestra MOYSA, and as a producer or musician, he collaborated with Dimitra Galani, Maria Farantouri and Marios Frangoulis. He also made the video project Rooftop Storieson the YouTube channel, combining solo bass and electronic aids in performing a diverse repertoire – from Greek folk music, to jazz standards, to indie rock.

He released four albums as a leader – Contextual (Inner Circle Music, 2011), Minor Dispute (Inner Circle Music, 2015), Chroma (Motema, 2017) and Irrationalities (ENJA/Yellowbird, 2020). His last album got him a triple-win at the Independent Music Awards: the song “Easy Come, Easy Go” won critics and audiences awards for the best jazz instrumental, and he won the best jazz producer award.
